My name is
Taneshia Johnson, MSW.
As an Associate Clinical Social Worker and Life Coach with over 23 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and economic situations. One thing that stands out across all races, genders, and cultures is a lack of understanding about the impact of trauma and trauma responses.
Many of my clients have spent years normalizing, dismissing, or avoiding their emotions. It isn’t until life begins to unravel that they realize what they’ve been doing isn’t working, and it’s time for change. They find themselves drained and unable to pursue their own dreams and navigate life because they’ve been pouring all their energy into supporting others.
If this sounds familiar, I want you to know that I understand, I’ve walked through similar pain, and I’m here to help.

As we heal, the goal is to live our life and not our trauma experiences.
Codependency shaped my identity, convincing me that I had to prioritize others and neglect my own needs. As I healed, I began to rebuild who I am and uncover my true, authentic self.
After 13 years of healing from codependency, I’ve discovered the true tools for healing this trauma response: emotional growth that aligns with our physical and mental age. This process takes time and requires you to be honest about your past trauma, the behavior patterns you’ve used to cope that no longer serve you, and to be open to uncovering your true identity.
Who would you be without your traumatic experiences? How has trauma shaped the person you’ve become? What parts of your life have you neglected because you’ve given so much to others?
These questions are the foundation for building self-awareness and inner peace.
